Hi we just moved into a home in northern california and the previous owner had planted a sweet gum tree in the yard.
Can gum tree leaves be used as mulch. Eucalyptus leaves are popular to humans for their sweet scent and are commonly used natural deterrents for many pests such as mosquitoes. What i was really worried about was whether any thing harmful would leech through into the soil and plants as the leaves degrade i wouldnt be importing them my garden on one side is surrounded by holly trees and bushes and the beds in question get covered any way but at present we rake them up.
